Amrut Bhoomi

As part of encouraging organic farming, Karnataka has launched ‘Amrut Bhoomi’, a Rs 200-crore organic farming scheme.

The government had earmarked the amount in the budget to encourage organic farming and 5.28 lakh farmers would benefit from the scheme.

The scheme was expected to be implemented in four lakh hectares, he said and exhorted farmers to come forward to make the programme a success. Farmers would be sent to Cuba and Israel to study the organic farming model in these countries.
